This Privacy Policy explains how TipTara may collect, use, disclose, and protect information when customers and workers use the TipTara app, website, payment flow, worker profiles, and support channels.
1. Information we may collect
TipTara may collect account information, profile information, contact information, usernames, photos or profile images, worker service category information, workplace or establishment-related information, approximate location information, app activity, support messages, transaction details, device information, security logs, and fraud-prevention information.
2. Customer and worker information
For customers, TipTara may collect information needed to create an account, choose a tip recipient, process a tip, provide receipts or support, and prevent fraud. For workers, TipTara may collect information needed to create a profile, describe service work, complete onboarding, support payouts, and maintain account status.
3. Payment, identity, tax, and payout information
Payments and connected account onboarding are processed by third-party payment processors such as Stripe. TipTara does not store full card numbers. Payment processors may collect and process card information, bank account information, identity information, tax information, payout information, verification documents, and risk-review information according to their own terms and privacy policies. TipTara may receive limited payment, payout, verification, and account-status information from those processors.
4. Location and establishment information
TipTara may use approximate location, search, or establishment-related information to help customers find nearby establishments or workers and to help workers identify where they provide service. Location features may depend on device permissions and third-party map or location providers.
5. How information is used
TipTara may use information to create and manage accounts, display worker or establishment profiles, process tips, support payouts, provide customer support, send service messages, prevent fraud, protect against unauthorized payments, comply with legal and payment processor requirements, troubleshoot the app, improve the service, and enforce TipTara’s policies.
6. How information is shared
TipTara may share information with payment processors, identity-verification providers, cloud hosting providers, analytics or crash-reporting providers, map or location providers, email or support tools, workers or customers involved in a transaction, banks or card networks, law enforcement or regulators when required, and other parties when needed to operate the platform, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, or comply with law.
7. Public worker profiles
TipTara may create or host public worker profile pages that display information such as display name, profile image, service category, general work location or establishment, and tipping profile details. Workers should not provide information they do not want visible to customers or payment review partners.
8. Data retention
TipTara may keep information for as long as needed to operate the service, comply with legal, tax, accounting, payment processor, fraud-prevention, dispute, and security obligations, and enforce agreements.
9. Your choices
You may contact TipTara to request help accessing, correcting, or deleting certain account information. Some information may need to be retained for payment, fraud-prevention, tax, legal, dispute, or security reasons. You can also manage certain device permissions, such as location or notifications, through your device settings.
10. Security
TipTara uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee complete security.
11. Age restriction
TipTara is intended for users who are old enough to legally use the service and payment features in their location. TipTara is not directed to children.
12. Changes to this policy
TipTara may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated date will show when the policy was last changed.
