Terms of Service
Last updated: May 31, 2026
These Terms of Service describe the rules for using TipTara, a mobile tipping platform that allows customers to send voluntary digital tips to eligible service workers. By using TipTara, you agree to these Terms and any additional rules shown in the app.
1. TipTara’s service
TipTara provides technology that helps customers identify participating workers or establishments, enter a voluntary tip amount, review payment details, and submit a card payment. TipTara uses third-party payment processors, including Stripe and Stripe Connect, to process payments and route eligible funds to connected worker accounts.
2. No physical goods, shipping, or delivery
TipTara does not sell physical goods through this website or through the TipTara tipping flow. TipTara does not ship products, provide delivery services, or accept returns of physical goods.
3. Customer responsibilities
Customers are responsible for reviewing the recipient, amount, and payment details before submitting a tip. Customers may not use TipTara for fraudulent, unauthorized, abusive, illegal, card-testing, self-tipping, or restricted transactions. Customers must use payment methods they are authorized to use.
4. Worker responsibilities
Workers must provide accurate account, identity, service, tax, and payout information when required. Workers may receive payouts only after completing required verification and meeting TipTara, payment processor, bank, and legal requirements. Workers are responsible for their own taxes and for keeping payout information accurate.
5. Voluntary tips
Tips sent through TipTara are voluntary digital payments intended for service workers. TipTara does not guarantee that a customer will tip, does not guarantee worker earnings, and does not guarantee payout timing. Payout timing can depend on payment processing, verification status, fraud review, banking delays, processor rules, and account standing.
6. Fees and payment processing
Payment processing fees, platform fees, or payout fees may apply and may be shown in the app or deducted from eligible funds where permitted. Payment processors may have their own terms, account requirements, payout schedules, and restrictions.
7. Refunds, cancellations, and disputes
Refund and cancellation questions are handled according to TipTara’s Refund & Cancellation Policy. Customers should contact TipTara support immediately if they believe a payment was accidental, duplicate, or unauthorized. Customers may also have chargeback or dispute rights through their card issuer.
8. Prohibited use
TipTara may not be used for gambling, adult content, cryptocurrency, investment services, lending, illegal goods or services, alcohol sales, controlled substances, weapons, counterfeit activity, money transmission unrelated to tipping, fake transactions, card testing, self-tipping schemes, or any other activity prohibited by TipTara, its payment processors, card networks, or law.
9. Account review, suspension, and termination
TipTara may restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts, payments, transfers, or payouts to prevent fraud, comply with law, meet payment processor requirements, investigate suspicious activity, respond to disputes, or protect customers, workers, TipTara, and payment partners.
10. App availability and changes
TipTara may update, pause, modify, or discontinue parts of the service. TipTara is not responsible for delays or interruptions caused by app stores, device issues, internet providers, banks, payment processors, card networks, or third-party services.
11. Privacy
TipTara’s handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy.
